PROCESS AND ROADMAP FOR UNLICENSED ELECTRICITY GENERATION

Solar energy systems may be established either with or without a license in accordance with the Electricity Market Law No. 6446. Under Article 14 of the Law, among the activities exempted from the obligation to obtain a license and establish a company is the construction of “renewable energy-based generation facilities with an installed capacity of up to one megawatt.” For facilities exceeding 1 MW of installed capacity, licensed generation mechanisms apply, and the establishment of a generation facility is required.
